How do you make a 20% formalin solution?
To prepare a 10% solution, add 1 volume of formalin to 9 volumes of water; for a 20% solution, add 2 volumes of formalin to 8 volumes of water. The 10% solution contains approximately 4.1 – 4.5% formaldehyde; the 20% solution contains approximately 8 – 9% formaldehyde.
